Ms. Sherwood handed out information that had been given to faculty during workshops and also at divisional meetings. She stated that there will be a page in the MCC 101 Handbook to explain how book buyback works. Dr. Packard spoke about the team’s very informative presentation at the last Board meeting, when they gave an overview of what the team has done and what they plan to do in the future. He stated that the presentation and information was well received by the Board. Dr. Patton spoke about pending legislation regarding the cost of textbooks, and will send a copy of that to the group. Dr. Packard then gave information on his meeting with Congressman Manzullo on the cost of textbooks.

Project Retirement - September 19, 2007

Cathie Scherman and Liz Sherwood reported overall experience was positive. Faculty
played a large part. The Textbook Advisory Committee was formed last spring and will
meet twice a semester. They will look into guaranteed buy back program. Information
on the buy back is now covered in MCC101. Dave Penoyer stated the team did a great
job and the improved process was helpful to students.

The Steering Committee approved the retirement of the Textbooks Action Project.
