This is a two-week program in which administrators and faculty from Illinois colleges host colleagues from abroad and are, in turn, hosted by their exchange partners later in the school year.
Faculty and administrators from McHenry County College have traveled to the Netherlands, England and Switzerland through this exchange program. The participants spend two weeks as a visitor in the host college abroad. They have the opportunity to observe and take part in the academic life in their host colleges. At the end of the two-week period, they bring their experiences back to McHenry County College. The exchange program is currently being conducted with colleges from the Netherlands, Finland, and Switzerland.
The participating administrators' and faculty members' exchange partners from the host colleges abroad visit McHenry County College for two weeks during the school year as well. As visitors at McHenry County College, these academics from two-year colleges abroad learn about McHenry County College and about our school system; they participate in our regular academic life; and they have the chance to talk to our students. This is an enriching experience both for the visiting scholars and for the McHenry County College community.
