1 Engaged citizenship is defined as participation in civic, community, and political life. This participation could include on-campus involvement in student government or other organizations as well as involvement in the social and political life of the external community, region, nation, and world.
2 Serving the public good is defined as working for the betterment of society within a framework characterized by justice, freedom, and equality. Service for the public good occurs with or without remuneration and is often undertaken on behalf of the less fortunate – those individuals who lack power, education, and essential financial resources.
